Weird Freezes (Not typical)
I am now getting about 2-3 freezes per day when playing Guild Wars. The weird thing is that I can still play, the cursor turns green or red according to what I'm targeting, the music keeps playing and when I type a message in chat, the other players receive it but my screen is frozen so I can't see anything that I'm doing.
My specs are:
1gig of ram
P4 3.8ghz
Nvidia 7800GT
300g HD
Windows XP
I have to close the game manually, either by going to task manager and end program or ctrl+alt+f4.
It's extremely frustrating when this happens because 50% of the time when this happens when I tried logging back in the game freezes when I press log in or has to repair the data archive, which takes a fair amount of time.
The weirdest thing that happened though was that my whole gwdat. file was deleted, it used to be about 4 gigs and I was left with 3.4mbs.
I reinstalled the game off of the CDs and proceeded to download the other updates again, 1 hour later it happens again. Could those 3.4mbs of dat. be corrupt?
The only thing I can do is to restart my computer so GW doesn't crash anymore.
I also updated my video card drivers and turned v-sync off and it still happens.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
